Africa Population Pyramid 2010
Africa in 2010
The population of Africa in 2010 was 1,072,216,496. Over the previous ten years the population grew by 29.1%, up from 830,582,528 in 2000.
The median age was 18.9 years, and for every 100 people of working age (15–64) there were 75.9 children under 15 and 5.8 people aged 65 or over. This is an expansive pyramid — each cohort of children is larger than the one above it, the signature of high birth rates and rapid growth.
