Republic of Korea Population Pyramid (1950–2100)
Republic of Korea in 2026
As of 2026, the Republic of Korea counts an estimated 51,600,388 inhabitants. Over the previous ten years the population grew by 0.6%, up from 51,297,839 in 2016. The median age is 47.3 years, and for every 100 people of working age (15–64) there are 14.3 children under 15 and 31.2 people aged 65 or over. The pyramid is constrictive: cohorts of children are smaller than those of their parents, reflecting low fertility and an ageing population.
