Year
2009Caribbean in 2009
In 2009, the Caribbean had a total population of 41,154,155 people. That is 8.7% more than in 1999, when the population stood at 37,875,618.
Half of the population was younger than 28.7 years; 26.7% were children under 15 and 8.2% were 65 or older. The pyramid is stationary: cohort sizes are roughly even through the younger ages, reflecting fertility close to replacement level and slow population change.
