Eastern Europe Population Pyramid 2012
Eastern Europe in 2012
As of 2012, Eastern Europe counted 294,998,950 inhabitants. Over the previous ten years the population declined by 2.4%, down from 302,250,148 in 2002.
The median age was 38.9 years, and for every 100 people of working age (15–64) there were 21.6 children under 15 and 19.6 people aged 65 or over. The pyramid is constrictive: cohorts of children are smaller than those of their parents, reflecting low fertility and an ageing population.
