Europe Population Pyramid 2012
Europe in 2012
As of 2012, Europe counted 740,458,845 inhabitants. Over the previous ten years the population grew by 1.6%, up from 729,126,514 in 2002.
With a median age of 40.8 years, Europe had a youth dependency ratio of 23.1 and an old-age dependency ratio of 24.5 per 100 people of working age. The pyramid is constrictive: cohorts of children are smaller than those of their parents, reflecting low fertility and an ageing population.
