Germany in 2010

As of 2010, Germany counted 80,830,924 inhabitants. Over the previous ten years the population declined by 1.2%, down from 81,797,258 in 2000. The median age was 44.2 years, and for every 100 people of working age (15–64) there were 20.8 children under 15 and 31.3 people aged 65 or over. The narrow base of the pyramid marks a constrictive age structure: fertility below replacement level and a rising share of older people.
