In 2020, Least developed countries had a total population of 1,083,853,569 people. That is 26.7% more than in 2010, when the population stood at 855,529,921. Half of the population was younger than 19.9 years; 39.6% were children under 15 and 3.6% were 65 or older. The broad-based, expansive shape of the pyramid points to high fertility and strong population growth.
