Middle Africa Population Pyramid 1970
Middle Africa in 1970
In 1970, Middle Africa had a total population of 40,657,263 people. Over the previous ten years the population grew by 25.8%, up from 32,314,607 in 1960.
The median age was 18.5 years, and for every 100 people of working age (15–64) there were 81.3 children under 15 and 6.2 people aged 65 or over. This is an expansive pyramid — each cohort of children is larger than the one above it, the signature of high birth rates and rapid growth.
