Northern Europe in 2017

As of 2017, Northern Europe counted 104,503,994 inhabitants. That is 6.7% more than in 2007, when the population stood at 97,906,403. Half of the population was younger than 40.2 years; 17.8% were children under 15 and 18.3% were 65 or older. The narrow base of the pyramid marks a constrictive age structure: fertility below replacement level and a rising share of older people.
