Oceania Population Pyramid 1962
Oceania in 1962
As of 1962, Oceania counted 16,560,586 inhabitants. That is 25.2% more than in 1952, when the population stood at 13,228,956.
The median age was 25.8 years, and for every 100 people of working age (15–64) there were 56.4 children under 15 and 12.1 people aged 65 or over. This is an expansive pyramid — each cohort of children is larger than the one above it, the signature of high birth rates and rapid growth.
