Serbia in 1960

As of 1960, Serbia counted 6,702,962 inhabitants. That is 11.5% more than in 1950, when the population stood at 6,009,201. Half of the population was younger than 28.7 years; 27.2% were children under 15 and 6.6% were 65 or older. The pyramid is stationary: cohort sizes are roughly even through the younger ages, reflecting fertility close to replacement level and slow population change.
