Singapore in 2010

As of 2010, Singapore counted 5,077,014 inhabitants. A decade earlier, in 2000, the population was 4,035,245; it has grown by 25.8% since. The median age was 33.7 years, and for every 100 people of working age (15–64) there were 18.0 children under 15 and 9.3 people aged 65 or over. This is a constrictive pyramid — its base is narrower than its middle, the signature of sustained low birth rates and population ageing.
