Singapore in 2017

As of 2017, Singapore counted 5,604,079 inhabitants. Over the previous ten years the population grew by 21.9%, up from 4,596,515 in 2007. The median age was 34.8 years, and for every 100 people of working age (15–64) there were 16.0 children under 15 and 12.8 people aged 65 or over. This is a constrictive pyramid — its base is narrower than its middle, the signature of sustained low birth rates and population ageing.
