As of 2019, Spain counted 47,435,119 inhabitants. That is 1.7% more than in 2009, when the population stood at 46,635,180. With a median age of 44.1 years, Spain had a youth dependency ratio of 21.8 and an old-age dependency ratio of 29.3 per 100 people of working age.
