United States of America Population Pyramid 2024
United States of America in 2024
As of 2024, the United States of America counted 345,426,571 inhabitants. Over the previous ten years the population grew by 6.9%, up from 323,115,377 in 2014. The median age was 39.3 years, and for every 100 people of working age (15–64) there were 26.8 children under 15 and 27.7 people aged 65 or over. The narrow base of the pyramid marks a constrictive age structure: fertility below replacement level and a rising share of older people.
The bulge of cohorts born between 1946 and 1964 — the post-war baby boom — is the defining feature of the United States pyramid, visible as it moves up the age scale over the decades.
