Western Europe Population Pyramid 1992
Western Europe in 1992
As of 1992, Western Europe counted 178,982,876 inhabitants. Over the previous ten years the population grew by 4.3%, up from 171,555,657 in 1982.
The median age was 36.5 years, and for every 100 people of working age (15–64) there were 26.5 children under 15 and 21.6 people aged 65 or over. The pyramid is constrictive: cohorts of children are smaller than those of their parents, reflecting low fertility and an ageing population.
