Western Europe Population Pyramid 2001
Western Europe in 2001
In 2001, Western Europe had a total population of 184,084,987 people. Over the previous ten years the population grew by 3.6%, up from 177,729,615 in 1991.
Half of the population was younger than 39.2 years; 17.1% were children under 15 and 16.2% were 65 or older. This is a stationary pyramid — similar numbers in each age group up to the older cohorts, the signature of near-replacement fertility.
