Western Europe Population Pyramid 2011
Western Europe in 2011
As of 2011, Western Europe counted 189,377,780 inhabitants. A decade earlier, in 2001, the population was 184,084,987; it has grown by 2.9% since.
The median age was 42.5 years, and for every 100 people of working age (15–64) there were 24.2 children under 15 and 28.1 people aged 65 or over. The pyramid is constrictive: cohorts of children are smaller than those of their parents, reflecting low fertility and an ageing population.
