Western Europe Population Pyramid 2040
Western Europe in 2040
By 2040, the population of Western Europe is expected to reach 198,497,901. Compared with 2030, when the projection stands at 199,472,876, that represents a decline of 0.5% over ten years.
Half of the population would be younger than 46.9 years, with 13.6% children under 15 and 28.0% aged 65 or older. The pyramid is constrictive: cohorts of children are smaller than those of their parents, reflecting low fertility and an ageing population.
