World Population Pyramid 2016
World in 2016
In 2016, the World had a total population of 7,558,554,526 people. A decade earlier, in 2006, the population was 6,671,452,015; it has grown by 13.3% since.
The median age was 29.6 years, and for every 100 people of working age (15–64) there were 40.7 children under 15 and 13.0 people aged 65 or over. The near-vertical sides of the pyramid indicate a stationary age structure, with births roughly balancing the passage of cohorts into older age.
