The population of Zimbabwe in 2016 was 14,600,294. Over the previous ten years the population grew by 15.5%, up from 12,636,445 in 2006.
Half of the population was younger than 18.0 years; 43.6% were children under 15 and 3.3% were 65 or older. The pyramid is expansive: its wide base of young cohorts reflects high fertility and a rapidly growing population.
